I am sure everyone of you has heard about Steven Spielberg and George Lukas’ stories about a Galaxy far far away. And the legend of the hairy barefoot creatures in the Great Northwest. I am here to tell you of the time I lived with them.
Back in the early 70’s I met George and Steven when they were young film students. I am getting ahead of my story. My story starts when I was hitchhiking north along Interstate 5. My ride dropped me off north of Mount Shasta. Considering the lack of traffic and being late evening, I decided to find a remote place to spread out my sleeping bag a spend the night.
Early the next morning, my nose woke me with a musky smell. The smell reminded me of a wet dog, but different. Since it seemed so close, I slowly opened my eyes. Not three feet from me, I saw what I could only describe as two hairy trees.
Thinking my eyes were playing tricks on me. I turned over. The smell remained. I slowly opened my eyes again. There in front of me, four more hairy trees. I closed my eyes real tight then opened them again.
Two of the trees were bending down. The two trees came together. Topped by a large hairy face staring down at me. It spoke, “Awakeee Yoouuu?”
The two trees next to the knelling knelt down and said, “Excuse my brother. He has trouble learning your language.”
These three large hairy creatures escorted me to a cave under Mount Saint Helens. There I met George and Steve. George and Steve taught these hairy creatures English. I worked with them fixing their spacecraft.
It turned out these hairy aliens travel from galaxy to galaxy through wormholes. Their spacecraft got shot out of a wormhole near earth. The spacecraft became damaged when passing through our asteroid belt. They crash landed on earth and had been working on repairs for some time. It got to a point where they needed our help.
These hairy creatures were quite friendly. In the evening they would tell us stories of adventures from their home galaxy. After I was there a couple months, George and Steve left to continue with documenting the northwest. George and Steve promised to keep these hairy creatures stories a secret until after the creatures were on their way back home. It took a several more years to fix their spacecraft.
The day came for these hairy creatures to leave. We said our good-byes. They left blowing the top off Mount Saint Helens. Oops we didn’t figure on that.
A short time later I made it to Boise. I walked by a movie theater. I got so angry. Steve and George had made two movies from the stories these creatures told. Then a wave of great peace came over me. George and Steve may be rich, but I have friends in a galaxy far far away.
