Years ago, a series of small walk-in doctor offices started popping up across the country. The slang name for these doctor offices were ‘Doc-in-the-box’. In the past few years, coffee shops started popping up with drive through and some with walk up. I call these coffee dispensing establishments: Coffee-Shop-In-The-Box.
Drive up and drive away or walk in, walk out for your favorite caffeine beverage. The traditional coffee shop has shrunk to having only two or three tables When there use to be ten or more.
I know I maybe a little more than old fashion. I enjoy waking into a coffee shop. Order my Mocha and sit down while enjoying music playing in the background. I have a couple coffee shops where I go to relax, meet people, and possibly write.
I believe the doc-in-the-box and coffee-shop-in-the-box is a commentary on own society. Faster paced, and less personal encouraging people to live within a bubble. I have written this blog post as a challenge to you. Don’t visit the coffee-shop-in-the-box. Visit the traditional Coffee shop and enjoy the experience.
