Pumpkin spice, scary movies, and cooler weather, all make for an October Autumn in the Northwest.
This morning I had to trade-in my short sleeve shirt for a long sleeve one. I pondered wearing a jacket or a sweater. First, I need to take them out of storage. Social medial filled with discussions of the upcoming midterm elections. Today, I switched from my usual of iced mocha to a medium hot mocha.
I just left an encouraging doctor’s appointment. So, I headed to my favorite downtown coffee shop. To my surprise, I saw a large number of people sitting inside and out. Conversation in high spirits, patrons enjoying time with each other, and a few solitary souls sitting enjoying the downtown atmosphere.
As I get closer to the counter, I discover today is Chi Day. In the spirit of Chi Day, I surrender my desire for a hot mocha for one of the offered flavors of chi tea. The last slice of dark banana bread calls from behind the display case. Both in hand I find a comfortable to sit and observe.
As the eleven o’clock hour approaches, those on morning coffee break head to their respectful jobs. Only us few left to enjoy the less noisy coffee shop. Banana bread and warm chi tea on a cool Autumn day feels good.
